I have enjoyed writing and reading poetry and short stories since I was very young. My father has been a writer for as long as I can remember and helped the passion grow in me. I kept notebooks full of writing and carried them wherever I went when I was in middle and high school and would often jot down ideas for pieces while at work. I started putting some of my writing up a blog and people would then ask me for my opinion on things they had written. That, combined with an internship at 826 CHI where I edited short stories by high school kids, made me realize I enjoyed the process of editing. I like helping other people find what they want to say in their writing.
I’m excited to start work with The Missing Slate and read from sources that I’ve never had access to before. I look forward to reading deeply meaningful and thoughtful pieces as well as perhaps contributing something of my own.
