I was five when I walked into the living room and announced: “I’m going to be a writer!” Since then, my passion has only grown deeper. Whenever I read a text, I see a maze on the page, each path filled with water. Sometimes there are walls that block those latent, shining streams of thought. There’s nothing I like more than solving each puzzle and letting the words flow. Where there’s water, life can grow and a whole world can thrive.

I come from generations of mixed races and grew up loving language and literature. Sometimes I like to fantasise that writing runs in my blood. There have been English teachers and artists on both sides of my family, my mother used to write and my dad is a poet, but, honestly, that’s all it is: a fantasy. To get good at something, you need practice, dedication, and discipline. A little bit of natural talent only gets you so far and then you have to hone your skills.

And that’s precisely why I’m here! I’m on a journey to improve my writing and editing skills the best I can and The Missing Slate provides a great platform to do so. The content that reaches the front page is the very best, and I’m honoured and excited to be a part of it all. Here’s to growth!
