With you I have learnt
a new way of foreplay.
Black eyes and burnt skin
now fit so seamlessly
into everyday chores.
I only wish you would wait
till the girls have gone to bed.
Because then in the morning
I can always point
to the bottle
and make-believe
a world
of accidents.
After all, who tells lambs
they are raised for slaughter?
